Cut Out for Love
I used to feel nervous about wearing maxi dresses because I felt like I was too short…
…but there’s nothing a pair of heels (or a pair of sharp scissors) can’t fix…nowadays I can’t get enough of these long flowy dresses.

If it’s one thing I love it’s a dress that can be transformed and styled for a variety of occasions. This Forever 21 cut out twist front maxi is not only comfortable (the material is so soft) but it’s equally wearable for day as it is for night (and would have been perfect for this ‘holiday emergency’)…For a casual look, I simply added a denim vest and hat. Flats would also be a complimentary addition to this outfit (but forgetful me left them at home).
The twist detail at the front waist and decorative side cut outs adds a chic & sexy vibe while the soft jersey fabric keeps you cool during those hot summer nights…Oh how I adore when fashion collides with comfort! This gorgeous dress is a fab find and a timelessly classic piece that will last all season long, and beyond.
Ladies: Have you ever felt uncertain/insecure about wearing something but overcame it?
You definitely look good in this dress! I didn’t know Forever 21 has such pretty item. Glad you found it! =)
For now, I’m still trying to get conquer wearing animal prints and big floral prints. Hmm..having doubts..
Gooood ! I have the same dress but mine is pink !!!! I love it !
Great maxi dress!
I would not feel comfortable wearing cut outs around my waist. I only started to get the hang of cut out shoulders.
For the longest time I didn’t feel comfortable in a skirt. I thought my legs were not shapely enough or toned enough. I don’t know what my problem was when I look back on it. Insecurities mixed with not used to wearing skirts.

Your photos are amazing. I love the all places you have your photo taken. You have one hot body. That’s dress is sexy on you.
You pull off the cut out and maxi dress so well!! I’m afraid of everything, from maxi dresses, to floral print bottoms, to animal prints! Although, I’m trying to break that. The other day, I hesitantly bought floral shorts, and when I got them, I FELL IN LOVE! Maybe I’ll find the courage for floral pants.
Lovin’ your steez!
FAbulous dress…..the cut-outs looked sexy on you!

KT your photos are always amazing! you look really wonderful in this maxi with cut outs. I know there is something that I recently just “got over” and wore it… but i can’t remember what lol. i still know im never going to wear socks with sandals though!! as for removing watermarks, if you put it in a place that is not easy to crop out, most people are not good enough to really remove it. :) and i think i’ll put watermarks for a while til i get tired of it haha <3

Ooooh!!! I think I will have to find that dress! Lovely outfit and I love how you paired it with the vest! Cute!!
Hey you look so pretty and I love the hat and demin vest for a casual day look! I was wondering when did you get that dress. I checked their site and don’t see it. Was it recent and do you know if it comes in different colors?
KTR – this is one of my favorite look!
Wow it’s amazing how a simple denim jacket.vest can transform the elegant dress into a chic casual outfit! I love what you did with it and your shoes are to-die for!
This is stunning, your outfits never fail to amaze me! I have always LOVE maxi dresses and lucky me, I never have to get them hemmed (I’m 5’8″). I think you look great in them and you don’t look short at all! Let’s see, I think I fear dazzy dukes because I have really thick thighs and haven’t yet overcame that, any ideas how I can? :)
Girl, I’ve been loving cut out dresses lately, and you’re totally right–those cut-outs plus the flowy fabric makes that dress look both chic and comfortable! And agreed, love how we’re both rockin’ heels of the leopard variety on both our blogs. ;)
Being so vertically challenged (as you know!), I’ve also been adverse to hem lengths longer than my knees, but with the rising popularity of maxis and high-low skirts and seeing similarly petite ladies like yourself rocking longer skirts (you wear them SO well!), I feel like I need to try it as well. Love this look, KT! <3
