It has been a fantastic 7 days of peaceful serenity and much needed break from the hectic world. We are already missing this little piece of heaven and can’t wait to plan our next adventure… I’m bummed that our vacation was over so quickly, but believed that all good things doesn’t have to come to an end. It just gives us a reason to work harder so we can appreciate the special moments that comes our way and the beauty of what God has created for us…

Stay tuned for more photos and review of our 7 day Celebrity Summit cruise adventure from Puerto Rico to Barbados, St. Lucia, St. John, St. Maarten and St. Thomas!

I must admit that living in California most of my life has made me extremely spoiled when it comes to the weather. On the coldest days in San Francisco has nothing on New York during the winter months. But despite the freezing temperature, the rain, the snow, despite the fast pace and huslin’ + buslin’ your way through the crowds there’s still something very warm and fuzzy about NY that keeps people coming back year after year and season after season. Despite not being able to feel my nose and toes on some days and wearing layers and layers of clothes, I had a terrific time in the big city. I was able to see good friends and family again, eat delicious food, shop the small boutiques and share every moment with the love of my life.

NYC Day 3: Lady in Blue

When I saw Anna Dello Russo rocking this Jason Wu dress, I was quickly in love. The full length hi-low style is a reminiscent of the purple and silver colorblock Zac Posen skirt that Carrie Bradshaw wore in SATC2 when she ran into Aiden in Abu Dhabi, which I am still in love with….I love the elements of both outfits but I added my own spin with my signature over-sized bow and paired the ladylike skirt with a basic yet kind-of-sexy open back top…While I love my minis, this long flowy skirt was so much fun that I can’t wait to wear it again with something else, a little different.

Do you have any suggestions on what I should pair it with next time? :)

The NY Couture Fashion Week shows at the Waldorf Astoria grand ballroom was quite, well grand. In addition to designers from around the globe presenting exquisite gowns, the live vocal performances and dancers throughout the show made it quite unique and interesting. We caught the last show on Saturday night but unfortunately was sitting 3rd row so the photos didn’t come out as great as I like, but above are a few of my favorite gowns of the evening.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my recaps of NYC. Have a fabulous Monday! xo

NYC Day 2: On the Go, Go, Go

No matter how many times I visit NY, there’s something about this place that always makes me feel like a tourist. So many things to do and see in such little time….

Our 2nd day in NY was on a constant go, go, go. We visited family in BK in the morning, followed by a quick meeting, than head back to Manhattan to do some touristy stuff in SoHo and NoHo. SoHo is one of my favorite areas in NY to visit because of all the cute little shops. Not to mentioned 3 floors of TopShop and Little Italy is a few steps away.

Nate was like a kid in a candy store when we got to Fight Club.

I spy Kanye’s air yeezy 2 for $3,000, which retailed at $245. However this isn’t bad if you considered the nut who purchased it for $90K on ebay….he could have came here.

I wish every pup can have a loving home. :(

Vintage sewing machines are so freakin’ cool!

You can’t really experience all of NY without taking a ride on one of the busiest subway system in America. The subway is so detailed, with over 400 hundred stops and what seems like 3 floors of fast flying trains that can take you anywhere your heart desires….but hold your skirt tight and wear comfortable shoes. I kept a pair of flats in my bag just in case my poor little feet decided to go on strike. There are lots of stairs and you can easily get lost. Well, I would probably still be lost somewhere in the subway station right now if  I wasn’t with my NY native tour guide. :)

NYC Day 1: Carrie-d Away

You know I can’t come to the big apple without having my Sex and the City moment channeling my fave TV gal, Carrie Bradshaw. Carrie is the quintessential New Yorker, dressed to the nines as she walks down Park Avenue in sky high heels. Of course those who frequent this city knows the perception that everyone in Manhattan dresses like they just stepped off the set of SATC is far from the truth. As a matter of fact, I’m pretty sure even Ms. Bradshaw had a pair of flats hidden in her Fendi Baguette…as I had a pair with me at all times in my over-sized MJ. I learned this valuable lesson many moons ago.

There are a few Zaras in Manhattan but the one in Midtown (689 5th Ave) has the best selections. With two floors of endless options of casual + dressy clothing, shoes that are actually available in all sizes and accessories you can play with for days… you’ll end up in this store way longer than your husband would like you to be.

The jerk chicken, friend plantains and rice & beans at Golden Crust is my favorite spot for a quick-on-the-go lunch.

One of the best dinners started with this heavenly red velvet waffle, southern fried chicken and greens at Soco, a Southern Fusion restaurant in Brooklyn. Make sure you visit this spot if you are ever in the area!

Love all of the fruit stands that’s conveniently located at every other corner!

UPDATE!!

It’s been so hectic that I neglected the Petite Fashion Challenge #19 hosted by the lovely Angie over at Pandaphillia. The challenge was Trend Benders. “Pick your favorite Summer or Fall 2012 trend and make it work for you, whether it’s going all-out, incorporating it into a professional outfit or using it in moderation.”

I think this challenge went well with this outfit as I used bright colors and went a little “all-out.” I mean, how often can I run around the big apple with a tutu skirt that big and bright? :)
