Our 7-day journey via Carnival Victory cruise was an amazing trip. If you ever want to see the southern Caribbean in one week, this cruise is a must. We flew a red eye flight into Old San Juan, PR, then embarked our ship to five beautiful islands of the Caribbean: St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten.
The combination of black and white exudes timeless elegance and always bring me back to the glamorous 1920s, where white lace dresses accessorized with black gloves and darling pearl necklaces were the norm for a Friday evening dinner…Nowadays we’ll frequent dinner in our comfy jeans, tee and sometimes flip flops. Style has definitely changed throughout the decades but one thing has always remain: the classic combination of black & white will never be a thing of the past.

Snapping back to the year 2012, I’m wearing an outfit with the two color combo of that decade I admire so much…slightly dressed with a modern twist in crochet shorts and a loose blouse. There are no gloves nor pearls, but I’m accompanied by my new modern friends: hot pink wallet and lots of neon bracelets…B&W is timeless but no matter what I do or the time of year, I just can’t seem to stay away from colors… :)

Leg baring season is finally here and there’s no trendier way to show off those stems than in high-waisted denim cut-off shorts… I have been kind of obsessed with them and discovered (thanks to Sabrina of The Petite Style) these H&M dip dye pink shorts from the new “Fashion Against Aids” collection. Although I was looking for a blue light-wash pair with studs (like these), these pink babies was a lovely addition with a splash of color injected to my black top and polka dots cardigan.
Ladies: Would you wear high waisted denim cut-off shorts?
My weekend ritual…Thai tea with pearls. Yum!
Here I am again with one of those easy breezy tops from Express (last worn here). I’m obsessed with them because they are great for every occasions. Dressy, work, play or just everyday wear. Who does not love the beach? It is a place of healing and joy. The sun embraces us in its warmth and the sound of the ocean heals the heart, mind, and soul.
This weekend was finally warm enough for some beach time. NR and I took the windy road through Santa Cruz and drove down the coast until we reach the scenic “17 mile drive” at Pacific Grove. We ended up on the beautiful Pebble Beach where we spent the morning soaking in some sun and listened to the beautiful sound of the waves. If you ever visit Northern California, the 17 mile scenic drive is a must!
