Walking On Sunshine

Vibrant, feminine, delicate with a dash of edge and sass… These beauties are just my cup of tea! I found these yellow Zara sandals during a shopping trip in LA and it was the very last pair in my size! I have the worst luck when it comes to finding a size 6 at Zara (in store), let along something so pretty and wearable. It seems like my obsession with neon is not going to subside anytime soon.

In addition for my love for neon, one of my favorite summer trends are high waisted distressed denim studded shorts (that’s a mouth full!). A couple of months ago it was somewhat difficult to find them in stores, at least ones that are high waisted, distressed and has studs. They were mostly sold online and ranged anywhere between $75-$200… For something that I’ll wear only during the summer, economically it’s more efficient to make them at home. It’s pretty easy too! Cut, snip, thrown in washer/dryer and voila!

These particularly shorts were originally a pair of high waisted mom’s jeans purchased from a vintage shop for $10. Since I recently made a pair of blue distressed shorts, I experimented with bleach to turn this pair into white shorts. I was pretty happy with the results!

The awesome thing about DIY projects is that you can customize them to be exactly how you like. And since it’s your labor of love, it’s extra special. I love arts & crafts so naturally DIY projects are always fun for me (well until something goes wrong lol). Do you like to DIY? I’d love to know what’s your most prized DIY project… Mine was a piece of art that took me over 6 months to complete.

Happy Friday lovers! xo

When I saw these high waisted BCBGeneration pants, it reminded me of my dreams: Gloomy, mysterious, and usually scattered without a beginning nor end…

I have passed up these pants over a dozen times on my secret lunch trips to Bloomingdales because I thought the prints were just a little too crazy for me. A couple of weeks ago, on another secret mission to one of my fave department stores, these pants popped up again. Feeling like my dreams are now trying to haunt me at my happiest place on earth (wtf?).

…I gave in. Tried on these things and fell in love with the silky material and the way it flows and moves as I paced around the fitting room. I wore them last week running around, but they are so soft and comfy I could practically sleep in them. I guess dark and gloomy dreams are not so bad after-all. :)

Remember When…

…life was so simple…  “sometimes we need to stop analyzing the past .. stop planning the future .. stop trying to figure out precisely how we feel .. stop deciding with our mind what we want our heart to feel and sometimes we just have to go with whatever…happens..happens.” – Anon

I am embracing all colors and prints this season and two of my fave spring trends are floral prints and pastel shades. The minute I saw this pastel circular hem cutout skirt, I was immediately drawn to it. And of course a sweet skirt is not complete without a sweet top. A few rows down, hanging all by its lonesome was this happy floral print (sheer) blouse. Naturally, this was a perfect combo for me and I went home a happy camper…

H&M has been quite on point with their inventory that I think I have about half of the store squeezed into my closet, but I think this floral blouse is on top of my fave list. So far, I have worn it with black trousers, a pencil skirt, a tulip skirt, a flared skirt and now this.

I’m always quite happy when I get the most use out of a purchase because wearing something only once or twice feels like such a waste.

Fashion & Friendship

When I first met Becca of BDezigned a few years ago, I knew right away we would be good friends because we have so much in common. I think we’re both pretty crafty and we love to DIY everything (Becca makes jewelry & fab wedding projects and I make lingerie), we are passionate about fashion…and well we both love to shop! We have collaborated on many projects in the past (including our BGlam parties) and this time it’s the K&B Fashionista Party!

Flower Power

“Find the guy who calls you beautiful instead of hot, who calls you back when you hang up on him, who will lie under the stars and listen to your heartbeat, or stay awake just to watch you sleep…The one who turns to his friends and says, “that’s her.” – Anon

NR captured this awesome pic of a bumble bee trying to get him some sweets at the gorgeous Gamble Garden in Palo Alto.

When I was younger, I used to have a few items I loved to wear. Some of them are stripes, polka dots, and plaid, and because I love the pieces so much I would wear them all at once. The kids in school used to laugh at me saying I was weird. I never thought I would grow up wearing something so similar… I guess I’m still that weird kid. :) I only wish I have a “before” pic to show you. It would be really funny.

I have been on the hunt for a nice floral statement piece to add to my wardrobe but I didn’t think I would fall head over heels for this Aqua blazer. The colors are vibrant, the flowers are purple & pink (my two fave colors) and it’s ultra girlie. I had some fun reliving my childhood days by mixing floral with plaid and polka dots. I added a purple flower broach to the clutch to tie it to my outfit. When mixing prints, the thing to look out for are similarities in color schemes. Even when prints are all different, the similar hues can tie everything together.
