BCBGeneration

Casual Weekends

There’s nothing better than ultra soft, comfortable jeans, well maybe there are, but these Joe’s Jeans are pretty darn awesome. The soft and stretchable texture make these the first pair I’d usually reach for whenever I want to wear pants. It’s not always easy finding a perfect pair of good quality skinnies that fits in all the right places so lately I have been searching to add more comfies to my closet. A few of my other favorites are from Shop Garage, Rich & Skinny and Hudson Jeans.

A whole year of waiting for Breaking Dawn Part II is finally over! I remember the very first time I started reading the books and how I was irrevocably immersed in the fairytale that I couldn’t put down the books. I even almost purchased the life size cardboard of Edward so I can place him in our pad. Yeah, it was pretty bad.

Although I’m sure Nate is beyond thrilled and relief and that our annual 2 hour waits in movie lines is finally going to end, I’m a little sad that this is the final chapter. On the other hand, I’m really excited to see the ending tonight and relive the fantasy one last time. Well, until I get the DVDs. :)

Happy weekend guys, be safe and stay warm!

xoxo,

Print Mixology

I have been wearing a lot of solids and muted colors lately, and I’m kinda missing my bold prints and bright colors. For now, I’ll play with simple patterns: leopard and stripes with a dab of chevron mixed in.

I remember seeing my closet a few years ago filled of stripes, dots, floral and animal prints but never thought to mixed them together. Nowadays mixing patterns and prints has no boundaries. There are all sorts of tips out there on how to mix prints…but I think the key in making prints flow together is the wearer’s attitude and confidence. I’ve seen  3-4-5-even 6 different prints, wildly worn together that made my head spun…somehow the person wearing it made it work. I think all 6 would make me look like I just escaped the madhouse, but I’d love to experiment more with exotic and ikat prints. Do you think attitude is everything when it comes to fashion?

Who needs thigh high boots when there’s pants like these?

I’ve always been a little intimated to wear leather (or leather-like) pants, so I’m taking baby steps with these BCBGeneration Jasper “denim meets leather” hybrid pants….and quickly I fell in love. It’s stretch skinnies with an unexpected edge that will instantly make you feel like you can kick anyone’s ass. Perhaps next time, I’ll go the full length!

Pink Blueberry

Blazers has always been a wardrobe essential. With the right fit, a good blazer can instantly dress up jeans, skirts, the LBDs, shorts and even leggings. Although a basic black blazer is simply one of the most versatile item and can go with virtually everything…a  cheerfully bright blazer can do the same and can bring instant glam into your wardrobe.

Don’t be fool by the bright pink color of this blazer. With the right outfit you can take this from playtime to business hours….but as you can see I’m all about playtime these days, so mixing this vibrant structured blazer with blue floral shorts and adding a splash of leopard completed the fun summertime vibe I was going for. Hey, living in the Bay Area, the weather is quite unpredictable (not to mention bi-polar) so I need to take full advantage of all the summertime outfits while I can :)

In addition to pink, here are my summer’s favorite hues for blazers. Would you wear any of these and if so, which is your favorite?

Zara yellow blazer, J. Crew green blazer,

Topshop coral ponte boyfriend blazer, ASOS purple peplum blazer $58

Thanks for stopping by the blog loves! TGIF and have a wonderful weekend! xo

Summertime Blues

Just when I thought I was over the high low craze, I ran into this BCBGeneration high low hem dress and fell in love with the flowy, flirty and feminine look all over again (similar look here). It was purchased for my Caribbean vacay but I never had the chance to wear it because I over packed a little, but it was perfect for a summer day while out-n-about in LA last week. I added a denim vest for a casual look, which also gave the loose frock a little bit of shape.

When I’m at home I like to have my hair pulled back in a ponytail and tucked behind a comfortable headband, but my head always hurt after wearing a headband for a long time…Recently I tried out these classic headbands from Stone Bridge, an England based company that specializes in luxury French handmade hair accessories. These classic everyday wear headbands felt like they were made for my head. It’s so comfortable I practically lived in them all weekend.
