Jersey Girl on Valentine’s Day

jerseygirl4

This is an amazing comfortable jersey maxi skirt that I spotted on a trip to Target to check out the Prabal Gurung collection. I love how it hugs the hips and flares out at the bottom, accentuating your curves yet still flow and move with so much ease.

I actually came for these neon green beauties but if you have been to Target, you’d know that you never really leave with just one thing…

I hope you are having a lovely day today and that someone special has put a big smile on your face. If they didn’t, just punch them in the stomach when they walk by. :)

I really can’t believe how fast this year is flying by. It’s already mid February, and you know what that means. No, not the NBA All Stars! It’s Valentine’s Day! I don’t technically celebrate because I feel like it’s such a commercial gimmick to put pressure on both men and women and I don’t like how it singled out individuals who doesn’t have a significant other…so I never really expect Nate to waste money on flowers that are doubled the price or dinner that tripled. Instead, I prefer a nice quiet evening at home with a yummy home cook meal. Usually I don’t like to share my kitchen, but tonight we’ll cook together. Well, I’ll be cooking while he gets in the way and makes a mess. :)

Whatever you do and whoever you love, celebrate love in any form it comes! Enjoy it and celebrate it every day of the year!

There’s Something About Red

Lately my wardrobe has been over-ruled by all things red. Red shoes, red polishes, red scarves, red handbags and this beautiful red romper. In addition to the scallop lace details delicately connecting the sleeves and sides, the vampy color is the perfect shade of red for the holidays. I think red is supposed to be the color of passion, desire, love & sex-appeal, but when I think of red, I think of rebelling. As in I-want-to-steal-a-bike-and-ride-it-down highway-1 rebelling. Ok, maybe not. But maybe this burst of fearlessness can get me to ride a bicycle without crashing into everyone and everything. It’s pretty terrifying. :(

Speaking of vampy, I’m getting all vamped up for Friday, November 16th. Can you guess the occasion? :D

Sweet November

When it comes to clothes, it’s important that I find pieces that can be worn more than once and in a variety of ways. I love to remix, recycle and remake existing things in my wardrobe.  This skirt I’m wearing is actually the same skirt I wore in my last post. I wore it as a mini by pulling it up and folding it under. The material was pretty snug so the fold stayed in place. This time, I wanted to wear it as a long pencil skirt. It was a quick fix for a different look. Which length do you prefer?

Whenever sweet November rolls around I know autumn is truly here. It is the time of year when all the leaves has transformed in it’s most beautiful shades of sunset yellows, reds, orange and gold. I can feel the slight breeze in my hair and the warm sun kissed against my neck. But why is November so sweet? For me, it’s because it’s the start of the holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas, my favorite time of year for so many reasons.

I hope you are having a wonderful Friday so far and have a safe weekend!

A Knitted Story

I have been a bit obsessed with shoes lately. I mean, I have always love shoes but lately it just gotten really troublesome. Perhaps it’s a new season with all the new inventories tempting me everywhere I turn  or the additional shoe space tempting me to add more. Whatever it is, these Ivanka babes with its velvety soft suede, metallic shine and adjustable front crisscross straps was a pair I know will get a ton of love.

I live in the San Francisco bay area and if you ever visit this place you’d know the weather is a bit bi-polar. It can be hot one day in one city and cold in another. Therefore, I have learned to adapt to the unpredictable weather with the use of my trusted cozy knitted friend. The sweater. Whether it is over-sized, tight, long or cropped, it keeps me cozy enough for the cooler nights yet isn’t too thick for the warmer days. Of course, I also love a good sweater that I can throw on over anything.

Speaking of weather,  my heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. I cannot imagine how terrifying everything  must be and I just want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

While the storm has passed, there are still millions without electricity, food, water and shelter. Please watch out for our neighbors as well as older people and single parents with young children who might need help and please, please don’t abandon your pets.

I’m a big fan of wild animal prints so it was natural that this sweater caught my eye, but the fact that it’s animal prints, has studs and deep pockets, it was instant love. One of my favorite thing to wear are cardigan sweaters. Big, comfy and soft ones. It’s the #1 go-to item in my closet whenever I’m on the go. I love the flexibility of the front buttons and how it can easily be worn over anything: skirts, dresses, pants, shorts, leggings and even some print mixing here and there.

Btw – have I mention how happy I am that Topshop is now at Nordstrom? Although it doesn’t have as big of a selection as the actual store but I think it’ll keep me satisfy when I need an instant fix. Have you had the chance to check it out?
