Whenever I feel like my outfit has too much of one or the other, I’ll swap it out for a substitute until I find my balance. I think it’s important to experiment, mix and match your favorite pieces to find the look that works for you.

I know it’s fall and you’re probably wondering why on earth am I talking swimwear. Well, hear me out. This is the time of year when everyone’s bundled up and all the stores are releasing their winter collection. That means, all the swimsuits goes on sale! If you’re a swimsuit fanatic like me, this is the perfect time of year to grab some of those awesome deals for next year.

But before you rush out to grab that itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, little polka dot bikini, consider investing in something a bit more unique: the high waisted bikini bottoms. Some people may not like the idea of bringing back a style that was all the rage in our grandmas’ days, but I think the style is quite refreshing and not all high waisted bottoms are considered “old school.” Well as you can see, this Mint Swim I’m wearing has quite the modern twist with all all over mesh design and strategically placed over-sized dots to covered up the goods. It’s really sexy yet fun, retro, classy and it’s currently on sale for $40 off. I had to quickly snagged this up before it sells out. :)

Here are a few others I have on my wishlist

1) Leopard top & bottoms | 2) Floral studded top & bottoms 3) Floral print top & bottoms

I used to be a bit wary about wearing midi skirts because I was told it will make me look stumpy but in the last several years I can’t get enough of them.

Tip: Make sure your skirt is high-waisted and paired with heels.

I think mid-length skirts are universally flattering that instantly evoke a retro vibe and a stylish element that can be classy, funky, or dramatic. Don’t get me wrong, I love showing my legs with the mini, but there’s a quiet sex appeal with the mid length that’s so much more alluring when less skin is shown.I know it’s a style that’s not for all. I’m curious what you think about the midi and why you prefer not to wear it..?

When I first saw this pattern I wasn’t sure what to think… Christmas, Chinese New Year, vintage…so I passed. A few weeks later I visited the same store and there it was again, starring at me from across the room with it’s eye-catching mix of cobalt blue, ruby red and the little dashes of green. The colors are so vibrant, happy and I know right away what I wanted to make…One of my favorite things, crop tops and skirts. :)

I always love combining a crop top with a high waisted skirt, but when it’s done in the same print, it can create an illusion of a dress, with the unexpected break in the center to expose just the right amount of skin. However, I think the best part about a two piece if the versatility of pairing the top and skirt together or separately with other pieces. Gotta maximize each piece in your closet! :)

I work in a pretty conservative office so my 9-5 outfits usually consist of a pencil skirt, blouse and sweater, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. To be honest, work attire bores me to sleep. Ok maybe it’s not that bad, but I rather be in cut-off shorts and a tee. So for the most part,  I keep work attire pretty simple but will try to insert elements of my personality by using colors, textures and shapes. I love this pencil skirt because of the length and fit but since it’s a bit tight, I opted for a flared peplum top that covers my hips, added a small belt to cinch my waist and kept the rest pretty basic with black and white.
