Back to Basics
A no fuss kinda day consist of basic denims and a simple white tee. But being comfortable doesn’t mean your outfit have to be blah. The best way to spice up jeans and a tee is with key accessories: A pattern or colorful scarf, a pair of heels, a trendy bag or a chic jacket. My pick was this power shoulder studded leather jacket… which is nothing but basic.
Although I’m a skirt and dresses kind of gal, I love a good pair of jeans. I can’t stand to feel restricted so it’s important that my jeans are moveable and comfortable. Who doesn’t want jeans that’s extremely soft and are nonrestrictive… Some of my favorite jeans lately are Buffalo David Bitton, 74AM, and Citizens of Humanity and Joe’s Jeans.
What are some of your favorite denim brands and why do you love them?

I haven’t done one of my Fab4 looks in a while and wanted to do it again. This time I wanted to feature my beautiful bestie who owns the same versatile studded jacket. Isn’t she lovely? I’m secretly trying to convince her to start a style blog. I mean, she has major swag and her style is totally inspirational! :) xoxo
1) Urban Outfitters yop, Citizens of Humanity shorts and Steve Madden boots
2) ASOS red dress and Steve Madden boots

on Couleur Spleen.
You really rocked that jacket, KT!
Love this outfit – it’s such a contrast to your other ones – You look fierce!
I’ve become more relaxed about the brands of jeans I wear – I’m wearing Zara, Topshop and Madewell Jeans these days :)

You look amazing! I like how you kept the rest of the outfit simple so the jacket really stands out. It makes a great statement piece on its own.
Love this outfit … so causal, yet so chic!

Gorgeous look again! On you and your bestie!!
As for denim, I am a huge fan of Frankie B, although I mostly own True Religion, J Brand, and Rock & Republic. But, back to Frankie B, they look great when I am at my heaviest and when I’m having my skinny days :) They are very low rises so when I’m chunkier than usual my stomach is allowed to expand (loose blouse needed, of course -haha). But they are so hard to find and online the pictures never do them justice enough for me to purchase. But they wear so well that the pairs I have look new although they’ve been around for more than a few years!
A Preponderance of Fashion
OMG I love that jacket. I really like leather, rocker chic pieces. You look so good in it and good pairing with the ripped jeans! I haven’t been wearing a lot of jeans lately because I do feel kind of restricted in them… However, I don’t wear skirts and dresses often either because I look chunky and… hefty. Like… THE HULK IS COMING!!! Your bestie is definitely stylish. If she doesn’t want to do her own blog, maybe she can guest post on yours ;) Or you can just take pictures of her and expose her.
I got kind of scared (for a second) when I saw that math question to prove that I’m human…. Anyway. Haha!

I must agree with you that basics doesn’t need to be boring. I like 74AM jeans! They’re great! Your jacket’s cool! Actually your whole outfit is cool =D

Love the shoulders of your jacket!! When I shop for denim, I normally look at stores that specialise in denim, like Just Jeans. But I recently bought a pair from a cheaper store for $40, and somehow they’re the best pair I’ve ever owned :)

I finally made it over here! Hiii I feel like I have been “talking” to you on Instagram forever! lol
Love your jacket & the whole look! Pinning!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen you in jeans and I have to say you look amazing in everything (yes even in holey jeans!!).
Wow you look so fierce! I love the edginess in today’s post with the twist of sexiness. Love the jacket to death!
I adore everything about this look! I’m a fan of girly, feminine pieces but sometimes it’s so nice to wear something a little edgier. That spike shoulder jacket is incredible and I love how you wore a side braid and bright lipstick.

The studded jacket drew me in, but the outfit kept me on your page envious of your whole outfit. So casual and badass. Love it.

GIRL, that jacket is seriously, seriously the business! As if leather jackets don’t already add that definitive rough edge… it also has spikes! I adore pieces that look they can also double as weapons, hahaha. Adding to the grungy look are those too-cool yet classic ripped jeans and a crop top, so fantastic. But I love how you keep the outfit from looking too rowdy with those pretty cap toed heels and of course, your arm candy. Loooooove this look!

P.S. Yesssss, I’ve missed your Fab4 features!
P.S.S. I also vote yes that your girl should start a blog too! :)
No wonder you said you’ve been loving basics on my post. Haha!
I absolutely adore this. It’s the perfect addition to the basic jeans & a T look. What an amazing jacket! Love the studded aspect. I have yet to master the rocker / grungy look with a classic, girly twist, and you perfect it. You seriously pull off anything!
I’m loving your friend’s looks, too. I’ve been trying to get my friends to start blogs, too. The ones that did always gave up on it after a couple of entries. LOL! It’s so much fun. I don’t know why people aren’t more into it. It’s a great way to express yourself and meet awesome people online that share the same interests as you.
Anyway, another great look from you! :)
To answer your question, I’m a skirt / dress kind of girl, too. I started wearing more jeans during my pregnancy, actually. LOL. If I had to pick a brand, I like Joe’s Jeans & Rich And Skinny, but for the most part, I usually just get Forever 21 jeans and see how long they last. Haha!
That jacket and those pumps adds so much character to a simple white t-short and ripped demins. I’m so bummed that jacket is old because I’d love to purchase it for myself! Your friend is cute, I also like her purple skirt but it doesn’t look very “moveable.” Does it have a slit in the back?
I. MUST. HAVE. THAT. JACKET!
I love that you can go from girlie girl to edgy chic with such ease. Those shoes and that bag are so stunning….but THAT BLAZER is nothing basic! Wow, I want something just like that!! So inspirational. You rock my love! :) Oh and your bestie is so cute, I love her combat boots and I also like her tulle skirt look, it’s something I can totally imagine you in!
The way you wore that jacket is anything but basic! And I love your bestie’s style! You’re right, she needs a blog!
